The theme? Dr. Horrible! The Game plan? Rejected Superheroes/Supervillains!
So FGN, here is whats up. We are going to have our final meetup, and also our 20th meetup, of the year at the Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach.
Noble, Ein and Rez will be meeting up there around 4-5pm but the actual festivities will start at 6pm. If you would like to show up a little early, please feel free as it is a Comic Book store with loads of comics, graphic novels, paperbacks, hardcovers, posters, shirts, and more!
As your hosts we’ll provide the paperware if you provide the foods of course (really we’re only asking for chips only this time and perhaps drinks this time; The Comic Bug does actually have beverages for sale as well). We will have a couch and chairs to sit down and relax, discuss our FGNisms, and also have our first contest.
The contest is: Rejected Superheroes/Supervillains!
Rules: 6:30pm we will be given sketch papers to draw out your idea of a rejected superhero and/or supervillain character. They can be whatever you want. These characters are meant to be ideas of what kinda character you think would be so silly that they wouldn’t even be accepted into the world of Dr. Horrible.
Examples:
Conan O’Brien’s Rejected X-Men Characters:
Shoeverine (The man who has shoes for hands)
Gynoblast (I… don’t even wanna say… lol)
Velcroneto (Magneto’s long lost brother)
Omega Picnic (within the confines of his picnic towel he is invincible)
Mystery Men:
The Waffler (with his griddle of justice…)
Pencil Head and Son of Pencil Head (They erase crime… two generations)
Ballerina Man (…didn’t need to see that one…)
Squeegee Man (do you sense it?)
Prizes:
The Comic Bug will actually be giving out free gifts to us! We have no idea what they are! Free Comic Books have been mentioned! =o
If we get enough people they may want to have us there again! =o and more free comic books too!
In return, we shall spreadeth the wordeth of the Comic Bugeth… or at the very least you now know where you can hang out on your off days.
Finale:
At 8pm, for our grand finale, for the 1st time since our opening near 2 years ago… we will finally… FINALLY… watch Dr. Horrible together! Yes, some of you have seen it before while others have not… but since NPH has been our unofficial mascot for quite some time we figured we should at least give it a chance to watch his movie.
Seriously, if you have never joined us before this is gonna be the greatest time ever! We welcome new members, don’t feel left out! We like new people to show up and this may be our greatest event yet! (Granted FGN got to see how weak Roller Coasters made Noble feel..) The more the merrier! Come one, come all! Everyone I am serious, let no one be afraid, all must go!!!
Btw, if you do get hungry there is a Tommy’s restaurant across the street.

Don’t feel scared, just come right up to Rez, Ein, or Noble and say hi so we can introduce you to the group. If you just wanna hang out and shop around, please feel free to go right ahead. We won’t push you to join us in the fun if you’re not comfortable.
