“13” creator and writer Dani Dixon will be autographing with artists from the
series and members of the “13” cast on Wednesday, October 8th.

“13”, a full-color, comic book series from TUMBLE CREEK PRESS, tells the
ongoing story of a society in which, at the age of 13, every child gets a
superpower for one year. It’s a year without any rules, and a year that will
determine the rest of their lives. Before the first panel of issue #0 was
drawn, real kids were cast to embody each of the main characters.

Learn the ins and outs of building suspense and creeping readers out with things that go “bump in the night” with writer/creator and Comic Bug co-owner Mike Wellman (writer of “Gone South”, “Star Trek: The Trial”, “World of Warcraft: The Journey” and upcoming “Battlestar Galactica: Visitation”) at the Manhattan Beach Library. The Comic Bug will host it's 4th 24 Hour Comic Book day on October 18th, Saturday noon to Sunday noon.

24 Hour Comics Day is an annual challenge for cartoonists to produce a 24-page comic book written, drawn, and completed in 24 consecutive hours. ComicsPRO, the comic book specialty retailer trade organization, recently assumed the organizational reins for 24HCD with the enthusiastic endorsement of the event's founder, Nat Gertler, publisher of About Comics.

Over the years, the 24 Hour comic book challenge has thwarted and rewarded such comics luminaries as Scott McCloud, Dave Sim, Neil Gaiman, Kevin Eastman and many others. On 24 Hour Comics Day, creators of all ages and levels of skill and experience gather at one of the participating sites to encourage each other in completing this creative comics marathon.
